Congrats to the Kappa Alpha Pi Scholarship Winners
This past spring, Kappa Alpha Pi Pre-Law and Government Fraternity was excited to offer our members the first-ever KAPi Scholarships!
As an organization, we at KAPi Nationals strive to support and encourage the academic endeavors of our members. In furtherance of this, we were thrilled to begin by offering five scholarships. The award amounts range from $1,000-$2,000.
Among our offerings were three grade level scholarships awarded to one individual rising to each grade level: sophomore, junior, and senior. For each scholarship, a symbol associated with KAPi was chosen.
The Gavel Scholarship: The gavel was chosen for sophomores because, as they are rising past their first year of college, they are gaining maturity and valuable skills. This is often the time when members choose to become more involved in KAPi, and it is only fitting that the gavel symbolizes authority and order.
The Torch Scholarship: The torch was chosen for juniors because, in their third year of college, they are becoming emerging leaders and “lighting the way” for the newer members to follow.
The Phoenix Scholarship: The phoenix was chosen for seniors because these members, in their last year, will be going through a process not unlike the death and rebirth of a phoenix as they finish out the part of their lives as college students and continue on to their chosen path in the world, where they will continue to burn bright and thrive.
We were also thrilled to offer our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion & First Generation Scholarship because KAPi recognizes that every individual’s college experience and route through school is unique. This scholarship is intended to provide support to individuals who are first-generation college students or who are from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, and/or disabilities.
Finally, we were excited to offer our Pillar Scholarship. This scholarship represents the three pillars of Kappa Alpha Pi - Professionalism, Philanthropy, and Brotherhood. Applicants chose one of the three pillars and wrote about what they have done to advance that pillar within their own chapter.
Offering these scholarships was a historic milestone for Kappa Alpha Pi, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate the students selected. Giving back to our members is the first and foremost goal of KAPi Nationals, and we are excited to continue offering scholarships that show our commitment to empowering the next generation of legal and civic leaders.
